La patine, expliquée
Solid unlacquered brass has a soul. With no sealant to hide behind, it breathes with your home, deepening over time into a warm patina that is yours alone. No two ever age the same way.
If you love the patina: do nothing. Let it live. A dry cloth after use keeps the tone even as it darkens.
If you prefer the shine: a minute with brass polish, or lemon and baking soda, brings back the bright gold. Always reversible.
What to skip: bleach, vinegar, and abrasive pads. They patina the metal unevenly.

Ce robinet vaut-il l'investissement comparé à des alternatives moins chères ?
La plupart des robinets bon marché sont en zinc avec un revêtement en laiton. Le revêtement s'use. Le zinc se corrode. Vous le remplacez tous les trois à cinq ans et payez l'installation deux fois.
Un robinet hevna est entièrement en laiton massif. La surface ne s'use pas car il n'y a pas de revêtement de surface à user. Il est livré avec une garantie de 5 ans, la livraison gratuite et les retours gratuits. Le calcul est en votre faveur dès que vous cessez de remplacer le bon marché.
Comment la patine du laiton non verni se développe-t-elle ?
Le laiton non verni n'a pas de scellant, il réagit donc à l'air, à l'eau et au toucher.
La finition s'assombrit d'abord là où les mains et l'eau le touchent le plus : les poignées, l'extrémité du bec.
Au fil des mois, cet assombrissement se propage en un ton uniforme et chaud. La chimie de l'eau et l'utilisation quotidienne influencent le rythme. Deux robinets ne vieillissent jamais de la même manière, ce qui est le but recherché.
Puis-je nettoyer ou polir le laiton pour retrouver la finition d'origine ?
Oui. Un nettoyant pour laiton, ou du jus de citron avec du bicarbonate de soude, lui redonne un éclat doré en quelques minutes.
La patine est toujours réversible. C'est à vous de choisir : la polir tous les mois et conserver son éclat, ou la laisser tranquille et la laisser se développer. Aucun des deux choix n'est mauvais.
Est-ce compatible avec ma plomberie existante ?
