The Nara is Hevna's most ornate handcrafted shower system — a fully concealed unlacquered brass set distinguished by hand-engraved detailing across every single component. The arm wall plate, all three valve escutcheons, the handheld cradle, the tub spout plate, and the rain head face are each individually engraved with flowing decorative motifs, making the Nara a complete work of craft rather than simply a plumbing fixture. The system includes a large round flat rain head on a curved gooseneck arm, a handheld shower with engraved wall cradle and coiled brass hose, three individual cross handle valves in a horizontal row for independent hot, cold, and diverter control, and a curved wall-mount tub filler spout — all in solid lead-free brass with no plating and no lacquer.
Every detail of the Nara is considered. The engraving is applied by hand, meaning no two sets are ever identical. As the unlacquered brass develops its natural patina over time — deepening from bright gold toward warm amber and bronze — the engraved relief catches the light differently at every stage of aging, making the finish more beautiful with each passing year rather than less.

Without a protective lacquer coating, the brass begins patinating within weeks — shifting from bright gold toward warm amber and deep bronze tones. Wipe with a damp cloth for daily care; mild soap and water for deeper cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals to preserve the natural aging process.

Every hevna shower system is solid, unlacquered metal — no coating, no sealer. The finish is the metal, so it lives and changes with use. In a shower, water and steam simply speed that up.
- Copper — warms into rich russet and chocolate browns; constant water deepens it faster.
- Brass — settles into deep amber and soft antique brown over time.
- Water spots are normal — hard water leaves light mineral marks. They wipe away in seconds and aren't damage.
- Want it bright? A quick dry after use and an occasional polish keeps it gleaming.
- Want it aged? Leave it — the wet zones patina first into a deep, even tone.

Exposed systems mount the valve and pipework on the wall surface. They install faster, suit a retrofit where you're keeping your tile, and put the brass on full display. Concealed systems hide the valve inside the wall with only the trim showing, for a cleaner modern line, and need to be planned into a full renovation.
Each listing states which type it is in the specifications. Decide based on whether you're renovating to the studs or updating an existing bathroom.

Yes, and it ages beautifully because of it.
Unlacquered brass has no sealant, so the steam and warm water of a shower deepen its patina faster than anywhere else in the house. This is character, not damage.
Nothing corrodes and nothing flakes. Wipe it with a soft cloth now and then to keep water spots from standing out, or leave it alone and let it darken into a warm antique tone.

Yes. A brass polish, or lemon juice with baking soda, brings it back to bright gold in a few minutes.
The patina is always reversible. You choose: polish it monthly and keep the shine, or leave it alone and let it develop. Neither choice is wrong.

Standard residential pressure runs most brass shower systems comfortably. The recommended working range is listed in the product specifications. If your home runs unusually low, ask us before ordering. We would rather check with you than ship you something that disappoints.
