Only complaint was a bit of lack of communication waiting for shipping. Once received, very happy.
Most sinks hide their engineering. The Quadra puts it on show. Look down into this farm style copper sink and the basin floor is not flat — it is shaped by hand into four gently sloping planes that meet at the drain, forming a soft X across the bottom of the bowl. Every drop of water has somewhere to go. Nothing pools in the corners, nothing sits waiting to be wiped away, and the pattern of the four slopes catches the light differently on each side, so the floor of the sink looks almost faceted, like a cut stone.
That shaping takes time. Each plane of the floor is formed and then hand hammered separately, the dense texture following the angle of every slope and meeting cleanly along the lines where they join. The same hammering carries up the interior walls, across the wide flat rim, and down the full straight apron front, which wraps into the sides with softly rounded corners. The colour shifts as it goes: a warm, lighter copper on the basin floor where the light falls, deepening into a mottled antique brown across the apron — the look of copper that has already lived a little. At the center, a matching copper basket strainer sits in the drain, so the material never breaks from rim to outlet.
The copper is unlacquered, so the Quadra will keep evolving in your kitchen. The sloped floor, where water runs most, will deepen first, the four planes gradually settling into slightly different tones of their own; the apron will darken slowly and evenly over the years. It is a farmhouse kitchen sink that was thought through all the way to the bottom — and it looks it.
Every hevna sink is solid, unlacquered metal — no coating, no sealer. The finish is the metal, so it lives and changes with use. We build for that.

Both are solid metal with a living finish, so it comes down to tone and what the sink sits next to.
Copper runs warm and reddish, ages into deep browns, and the hammered texture hides water spots and small marks better than any other material.
Brass runs golden and pairs cleanly with brass faucets and hardware for a coordinated look. Neither is more durable than the other.
Pick the one that matches the warmth you want in the room. The exact finish and dimensions of each are in the product specifications.
Gauge is the thickness of the metal, and a lower number means thicker.
Thicker metal resists dents from heavy pots and cast iron. The exact gauge of each sink is listed in its specifications.
Our sinks are made heavy enough for daily kitchen use, and on the hammered models the texture also disguises the small marks that show up instantly on smooth stainless steel.
Yes. A brass polish, or lemon juice with baking soda, brings it back to bright gold in a few minutes.
The patina is always reversible. You choose: polish it monthly and keep the shine, or leave it alone and let it develop. Neither choice is wrong.
Yes. The drain opening follows the standard US 3.5 inch size, so standard disposals fit the same way they would on any kitchen sink.
Check the product specifications for the exact drain details on your model. If your disposal is an uncommon brand, a standard adapter handles it.
A solid copper or brass sink is heavier than stainless.
Most standard cabinets handle a drop-in or undermount with no changes. Apron-front and farmhouse installs carry more weight at the front, so have your installer confirm the cabinet support before fitting.
The weight of each model is listed in its specifications so you can plan ahead.
Acidic food left sitting will darken that spot faster than the rest of the sink. This is cosmetic, not damage.
It speeds the patina in one area, and the tone evens out with normal use or a quick wipe.
Rinse the basin after use and the finish stays uniform. If you prefer a slower, more even patina, an occasional coat of wax does it.
It will patina, and that is the point of a living finish.
Copper deepens into rich browns, brass into a warm antique gold. If you ever want the bright look back, a metal polish made for the material restores it in minutes.
The aging is always reversible. You decide whether to polish it or let it live.
This varies by model and is stated in the product specifications. Some are left raw to age naturally, others are waxed for a slower, more even patina. Check the listing for the exact finish of the sink you want.
Copper surfaces naturally resist bacteria, neutralizing it on contact over hours where stainless steel can hold it for days. It is one of the oldest reasons kitchens used copper. Brass is a copper alloy and shares the trait to a degree. Either way, normal cleaning keeps the basin sound.
Warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach, and harsh acidic cleaners, which strip the patina unevenly. To slow the aging, an occasional coat of wax. To embrace it, do nothing at all.
