- If you love the patina: do nothing. Let it live. A dry cloth after use keeps the tone even as it darkens.
- If you prefer the shine: a minute with brass polish, or lemon and baking soda, brings back the bright gold. Always reversible.
- What to skip: bleach, vinegar, and abrasive pads. They patina the metal unevenly.

It depends on your sink and counter. Check how many holes your basin has and the spacing between them. Single-hole faucets need one hole.
Three-hole configurations come in centerset (holes 4 inches apart) or widespread (holes 8 inches or more apart). Wall-mount faucets need no counter holes at all — the supply comes through the wall.

The finish deepens over time into a warm antique tone. It is the same process, just a little faster. Nothing corrodes, nothing flakes.
