Only complaint was a bit of lack of communication waiting for shipping. Once received, very happy.
Look straight down into the Halo and you will see why it has its name. The floor of the bowl is hammered in rings — hundreds of small, even strikes laid down in circles that radiate out from the drain like ripples from a stone dropped in still water. In the dark antique copper, the rings catch the light in a soft glow around the center of the basin, a halo of warm copper inside a deep chocolate-brown bowl. It is the kind of detail that stops people mid-sentence the first time they see it, and keeps rewarding a second look every day after.
The front of the sink has its own quiet drama. The apron bows gently outward in a long, soft curve, so the sink reads as a shaped form rather than a flat panel — softer at the edges, more generous at the center, catching light along the whole length of the arc. Unlike most curved-apron sinks, the Halo is hammered everywhere: the curved apron, the rounded corners, the side walls, the rim ledge, and the deep single bowl are all worked by hand in the same dense texture, so the sink looks complete from every angle, whether it sits between cabinets or at the open end of an island. A copper basket strainer in the same deep tone sits at the center of the rings. For the farm sink kitchen that wants something a little more sculptural, this is it.
The copper is left unlacquered, so the Halo will keep moving. The ringed floor, where water runs most, will deepen and even out; the high points of the hammering along the curved apron and the rim will slowly polish themselves to a warmer glow where hands meet them. Over time the dark copper gains depth and the rings grow softer — a curved apron copper farmhouse sink that settles into the kitchen like it was always meant to be there.
Every hevna sink is solid, unlacquered metal — no coating, no sealer. The finish is the metal, so it lives and changes with use. We build for that.

Both are solid metal with a living finish, so it comes down to tone and what the sink sits next to.
Copper runs warm and reddish, ages into deep browns, and the hammered texture hides water spots and small marks better than any other material.
Brass runs golden and pairs cleanly with brass faucets and hardware for a coordinated look. Neither is more durable than the other.
Pick the one that matches the warmth you want in the room. The exact finish and dimensions of each are in the product specifications.
Gauge is the thickness of the metal, and a lower number means thicker.
Thicker metal resists dents from heavy pots and cast iron. The exact gauge of each sink is listed in its specifications.
Our sinks are made heavy enough for daily kitchen use, and on the hammered models the texture also disguises the small marks that show up instantly on smooth stainless steel.
Yes. A brass polish, or lemon juice with baking soda, brings it back to bright gold in a few minutes.
The patina is always reversible. You choose: polish it monthly and keep the shine, or leave it alone and let it develop. Neither choice is wrong.
Yes. The drain opening follows the standard US 3.5 inch size, so standard disposals fit the same way they would on any kitchen sink.
Check the product specifications for the exact drain details on your model. If your disposal is an uncommon brand, a standard adapter handles it.
A solid copper or brass sink is heavier than stainless.
Most standard cabinets handle a drop-in or undermount with no changes. Apron-front and farmhouse installs carry more weight at the front, so have your installer confirm the cabinet support before fitting.
The weight of each model is listed in its specifications so you can plan ahead.
Acidic food left sitting will darken that spot faster than the rest of the sink. This is cosmetic, not damage.
It speeds the patina in one area, and the tone evens out with normal use or a quick wipe.
Rinse the basin after use and the finish stays uniform. If you prefer a slower, more even patina, an occasional coat of wax does it.
It will patina, and that is the point of a living finish.
Copper deepens into rich browns, brass into a warm antique gold. If you ever want the bright look back, a metal polish made for the material restores it in minutes.
The aging is always reversible. You decide whether to polish it or let it live.
This varies by model and is stated in the product specifications. Some are left raw to age naturally, others are waxed for a slower, more even patina. Check the listing for the exact finish of the sink you want.
Copper surfaces naturally resist bacteria, neutralizing it on contact over hours where stainless steel can hold it for days. It is one of the oldest reasons kitchens used copper. Brass is a copper alloy and shares the trait to a degree. Either way, normal cleaning keeps the basin sound.
Warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach, and harsh acidic cleaners, which strip the patina unevenly. To slow the aging, an occasional coat of wax. To embrace it, do nothing at all.
