The Copper Clawfoot Bathtub is the storm at the end of the collection. Where other pieces carry warm amber patinas or bright rose-gold tones, this one goes darker — a deep, near-black exterior where raw copper breaks through in sweeping marbled patches, amber and brown surfacing unpredictably against the dark ground like light through heavy cloud. It is a finish that looks as though the piece has been through something, and come out better for it.
The double slipper form — both ends rising in a symmetrical curve — is lifted on four ornate brass ball-and-claw feet with full acanthus shell caps, their warm gold tone sitting in precise contrast against the dark copper body above. A horizontal towel bar runs across the front face between two prominent dome-shaped globe escutcheons, larger and more architectural than the flat circular versions found on other pieces. Copper ring handles curve from each end, darkened by the same storm patina that covers the body, fading naturally into the surface they emerge from.
Copper has the unique advantage of oxidizing over time, which means its color continues to evolve with the life of the bathtub. The older it gets, the more attractive it looks.
