Only complaint was a bit of lack of communication waiting for shipping. Once received, very happy.
In fine furniture, a bow front is the mark of a maker who took the extra step — the curved face of a Regency chest, the gentle swell of a sideboard, a line that asks for more skill than a straight one ever does. The Regent brings that idea to the kitchen. It is a bow front copper apron sink with a front unlike any other in the collection: a curved center panel that swells softly outward, framed on each side by a flat, squared shoulder that meets the cabinetry cleanly. Straight where it needs to fit, curved where it wants to be seen.
The shaping carries all the way up into the rim, which follows the bow of the apron in a smooth arc before turning square again at the corners — so from above the sink has the outline of a piece of furniture rather than a simple box. Every surface is hammered by hand: the curved panel, the flat shoulders, the side walls, the rim ledge, and the deep single bowl, where the strikes on the floor radiate out from the drain in soft, even rings. The finish is a warm, reddish antique copper, richer and redder than a dark chocolate tone, that glows in daylight and deepens beautifully at night. A copper basket strainer in the same tone sits at the center of the floor. In a traditional kitchen, an English country kitchen, or anywhere with painted inset cabinetry, this farmhouse kitchen sink looks as if it came with the house.
Because the copper is unlacquered, the Regent will keep maturing. The high points of the hammering along the curved panel and the rim will warm and brighten slightly where hands meet them; the bowl will deepen with daily use; and over the years the whole piece settles into a richer, more even glow — the way a good piece of furniture does.
Every hevna sink is solid, unlacquered metal — no coating, no sealer. The finish is the metal, so it lives and changes with use. We build for that.

Both are solid metal with a living finish, so it comes down to tone and what the sink sits next to.
Copper runs warm and reddish, ages into deep browns, and the hammered texture hides water spots and small marks better than any other material.
Brass runs golden and pairs cleanly with brass faucets and hardware for a coordinated look. Neither is more durable than the other.
Pick the one that matches the warmth you want in the room. The exact finish and dimensions of each are in the product specifications.
Gauge is the thickness of the metal, and a lower number means thicker.
Thicker metal resists dents from heavy pots and cast iron. The exact gauge of each sink is listed in its specifications.
Our sinks are made heavy enough for daily kitchen use, and on the hammered models the texture also disguises the small marks that show up instantly on smooth stainless steel.
Yes. A brass polish, or lemon juice with baking soda, brings it back to bright gold in a few minutes.
The patina is always reversible. You choose: polish it monthly and keep the shine, or leave it alone and let it develop. Neither choice is wrong.
Yes. The drain opening follows the standard US 3.5 inch size, so standard disposals fit the same way they would on any kitchen sink.
Check the product specifications for the exact drain details on your model. If your disposal is an uncommon brand, a standard adapter handles it.
A solid copper or brass sink is heavier than stainless.
Most standard cabinets handle a drop-in or undermount with no changes. Apron-front and farmhouse installs carry more weight at the front, so have your installer confirm the cabinet support before fitting.
The weight of each model is listed in its specifications so you can plan ahead.
Acidic food left sitting will darken that spot faster than the rest of the sink. This is cosmetic, not damage.
It speeds the patina in one area, and the tone evens out with normal use or a quick wipe.
Rinse the basin after use and the finish stays uniform. If you prefer a slower, more even patina, an occasional coat of wax does it.
It will patina, and that is the point of a living finish.
Copper deepens into rich browns, brass into a warm antique gold. If you ever want the bright look back, a metal polish made for the material restores it in minutes.
The aging is always reversible. You decide whether to polish it or let it live.
This varies by model and is stated in the product specifications. Some are left raw to age naturally, others are waxed for a slower, more even patina. Check the listing for the exact finish of the sink you want.
Copper surfaces naturally resist bacteria, neutralizing it on contact over hours where stainless steel can hold it for days. It is one of the oldest reasons kitchens used copper. Brass is a copper alloy and shares the trait to a degree. Either way, normal cleaning keeps the basin sound.
Warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach, and harsh acidic cleaners, which strip the patina unevenly. To slow the aging, an occasional coat of wax. To embrace it, do nothing at all.
