Just a wide, shallow round basin in solid brass, hammered uniformly across every surface from rim to base, inside and out. In a room full of detail, it reads as a moment of stillness.
The form is drawn from the ancient offering dish — broad, low, open — a shape that feels both archaic and completely current. Paired against a dark marble counter or a richly veined stone surface, the warm, continuous gold of the hammered brass holds its own without competing. The fine, even hammer texture catches and disperses light across the entire surface, so the sink seems to shift tone subtly as the light in the room changes — warmer at midday, more amber by evening.
This is unlacquered brass, which means the finish is alive. Every hevna sink is solid, unlacquered metal — no coating, no sealer. The finish is the metal, so it lives and changes with use. We build for that.
- Copper — starts bright and warm, then settles into rich russet and chocolate browns.
- Brass — starts golden, then warms into deep amber and soft antique brown.
- High-touch areas darken first — that's the patina starting where your hands are, not damage.
- Want it bright? A wipe of polish brings the shine back in minutes.
- Want it aged? Do nothing — it earns a deep, even tone on its own.
- "Blotchy" early on is normal — the finish settling, not a defect. Any spot wipes back to bright in seconds.

Both are solid metal with a living finish, so the choice is about tone and what the basin sits beside.
Copper runs warm and reddish, ages into deep browns, and naturally resists bacteria.
Brass runs golden and coordinates cleanly with brass faucets and fixtures. Neither is plated and neither is more durable than the other. Pick the warmth you want for the room. The exact finish and dimensions are listed in each product's specifications.

Yes. Each one is shaped and hammered by hand, so the texture and the way it catches light are one of a kind.
Dimensions are held to spec within a small tolerance of around a quarter inch. The small variations in surface and tone are the signature of handwork, not flaws. No two are exactly alike, and that is the point.

They will not damage the metal. Soap residue and toothpaste are mildly abrasive, so they speed the patina where they sit. Rinse the basin after use and the tone stays even.
If a spot ever looks uneven, a metal polish brings it back, and the aging is always reversible. A coat of wax every few months keeps the patina slower and more uniform.
