The Torch is the wall-mounted companion to the Flare — the same tall arch copper body, the same flame-cut edges, but oriented downward on a wall rather than hanging from a ceiling. Where the Flare pendant has its torched edge only at the base, the Torch wall sconce carries that raw finish at both ends: at the bottom open rim where the light exits, and at the crown collar where the brass arm connects. Both edges are created the same way — a torch applied slowly around the perimeter, burning through the copper in a controlled pass that melts and severs unevenly, leaving a rim that drips and gathers and waves rather than cutting clean. The crown edge is fitted with a small raw copper cap that holds the flame-worked top in place against the brass arm fitting. It is raw, deliberate, and precise in its roughness.
The verdigris patination covers the full cylindrical body between the two torched edges — dense teal-green built up in thick, uneven layers across the smooth copper surface, with raw copper breaking through wherever the oxidation found less purchase. The polished brass arm that connects shade to wall is left entirely untreated — bright warm gold against the muted green of the shade, the wall plate patinated in the same finish as the body to anchor the whole fixture to the wall as one unified object. Two materials, two finishes, one sconce that holds them in deliberate tension.
