Description
The Stria dome is formed the same way every smooth copper piece at Hevna begins — a flat sheet pressed by hand into a clean hemisphere, the curve kept consistent from crown to open rim, no hammer marks, no tooling texture left behind. The surface is smooth and even. What happens next is what makes the Stria unlike anything else in the range.
Rather than applying the verdigris patination evenly across the surface, the craftsman works it in vertical passes — dragging the patinating solution downward from the crown in long, deliberate strokes, letting it pool and run along the curve of the dome the way rainwater runs down a copper roof. Where the solution runs thick, the green builds dense and opaque. Where it runs thin or skips a section, the raw copper beneath stays exposed — warm amber-brown in contrast to the teal above. The result is a pattern of alternating vertical streaks that wrap around the full circumference of the dome: green channels separated by raw copper, all running downward, all stopping at the rim. It looks like the patina arrived there by weather, by time, by the slow logic of water following gravity. It looks like something that happened — not something that was designed.
The interior is left as raw copper throughout, throwing warm light downward when the bulb fires. Outside, the vertical streaks shift tone as you move around the lamp, the green reading differently in direct light than in shadow. The Stria is a pendant that rewards looking at from more than one angle.

The Story We Almost Didn’t Tell.
We almost let the work speak for itself.
But the hands, the heat, and the hard choices behind it? That’s a story worth telling.
